Goodyear is bringing a familiar tire for the NASCAR weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The NASCAR Cup Series will use the same Goodyear tires that were used at Las Vegas in 2025, specifically during the Round of 8. Most notably, Goodyear rubber made a difference for the NextGen cars, as Denny Hamlin used his four fresh tires to clinch a spot in the Championship 4.
Meanwhile, the NASCAR O'Reilly Series will also use the same tire setups that were used in the Round of 8. Both NASCAR levels ran these same setups at Kansas Speedway in September. Specifically, the left-side tires were run six times in each series during the 2025 NASCAR season.
“Teams will be able to lean on their data from October’s races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway to refine their strategies for this weekend,” said Justin Fantozzi, Goodyear Director of Racing for the Americas. “The track surface at Las Vegas does not usually encourage much tire wear, so the setups we’ve brought this weekend are designed to shed rubber. That allows heat to dissipate through the tread, keeping the tires cooler and promoting fall-off over the course of a run.”
The hope is that Goodyear's tires in the Cup and O'Reilly Series provide the same fall-off and racing between the cars as last season. The second weekend at Las Vegas in 2025 was successful after Goodyear made some adjustments. NASCAR is back in Las Vegas, as the Cup and O'Reilly Series have their first traditional 1.5-mile track of the 2026 season.
