Gonçalo Guedes returns to La Liga

Portuguese winger Gonçalo Guedes has signed a four-year contract with Real Sociedad, leaving Wolverhampton after three challenging years in England.

At 28, Guedes is back in a league he knows well. He made a name for himself at Valencia between 2017 and 2022, becoming one of the most feared players in La Liga. With Los Ché, he notably lifted the Copa del Rey in 2019 after a dramatic victory over Barça.

In the Premier League, the Benfica academy product never truly found his footing. Despite showing flashes of brilliance, he was unable to establish himself with the Wolves. Two consecutive loan spells at Villarreal and Benfica marked a tough period in his career. Now, he hopes to reignite his form in Spain with Real Sociedad.
