A lot's changed since the New York Giants' heyday with Eli Manning and Tom Coughlin. It was a tough team that spoke with its physicality, not its words.
So, with the Giants now embroiled in a controversy over Jaxson Dart's introduction of Donald Trump and Abdul Carter's puzzled reaction, a member from those Super Bowl-winning G-Men decided to share how they'd handle the situation back in his day.
Brandon Jacobs, the former bruising running back who stood 6-foot-4, 264 pounds, took to X to post, "Me and my teammates ain’t give a (expletive) about what religion or what political side one represents. Line that (expletive) up let’s hit some folks in the mouth!!"
It's a decidedly Jacobs thing to say. He's one of the toughest players to tackle in NFL history, an absolute tank in the open field. The 43-year-old finished his NFL career with 5,094 rushing yards and 64 total touchdowns. He also helped the Giants win Super Bowls in 2008 and 2012.
The Giants have had a noisy offseason, to say the least. John Harbaugh must be anxious to put it behind the team and get to actual football, like Jacobs alluded to.
