Giants HC John Harbaugh shares injury updates on QB Jaxson Dart, OLB Abdul Carter, and more

Giants head coach John Harbaugh shared injury updates on key players with the media following Monday's practice.

• QB Jaxson Dart had his foot'stepped on' early on in practice, completing his all of his reps with a noticeable limp; "He's fine," said Harbaugh.
• OLB Abdul Carter has a lingering hand/finger issue he has been dealing with, which caused him to miss practice. Harbaugh explained that Carter has to "work on the orthotics a little bit."
• 2026 first round pick OL Francis Mauigoareceived attention from trainers on his head/neck area, but finished practice. "I don't think he was evaluated for a concussion... I don't know what [the injury] was... it wasn't serious." Harbaugh expects to know more on Mauigoa's status "tomorrow".
• WR Jalin Hyatt was involved in a collision towards the end of practice. Harbaugh stated "I think he's okay, but they're going to go look at him."
• OLB Chauncey Golston "banged his head a little bit... his head hit the turf." Harbaugh was told that he's being "checked out" as a result.

Finally, Harbaugh evaluated how his Giants have been practicing as they prepare for their first preseason game (at home against the Vikings this coming Saturday, Aug. 15):

"It's gritty. Maybe that's what we need... We have a chance to be a good football team. We are doing a lot of good things right now. The focus is on the execution, the technique, all of the little things. If your technique is good, you can win the battle of fatigue, and that's what we're working on."
