The New York Giants are poised to add another former Baltimore Ravens assistant to their coaching staff, with defensive backs coach Donald D'Alesio expected to join head coach John Harbaugh in New York, reports Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports.
D’Alesio, who spent the 2025 season as the Ravens' defensive backs coach after joining the team in February 2025, previously enjoyed significant success with the Kansas City Chiefs. He served as a defensive assistant in 2021 and safeties coach from 2022 to 2024, contributing to two Super Bowl victories (LVII and LVIII) under defensive coordinator and ex-Giant Steve Spagnuolo.
His earlier career included roles at Youngstown State University -- where he progressed from defensive quality control to defensive coordinator -- and a stint as a defensive analyst at LSU in 2020.
The move aligns with a broader trend under Harbaugh, who has brought multiple ex-Ravens assistants to the Giants following Baltimore's recent staff changes.
Recent additions include assistant linebackers coach Matt Pees, quality control coaches Adam Schrack, Brendan Clark, and Noah Riley, as well as strength and conditioning veteran Ron Shrift from the Ravens.
D'Alesio's championship pedigree is seen as a key asset for bolstering the Giants' secondary, despite the Ravens' secondary struggles in 2025. The hire continues Harbaugh's emphasis on familiar, proven talent as the team rebuilds its staff.
