Long before tight end Isaiah Likely signed with the New York Giants in free agency, there was considerable speculation that the former Baltimore Ravens pass catcher would follow John Harbaugh to Big Blue. Likely did just that, reuniting with his former head coach from his time in Baltimore.

The Giants may have a star in the making in Jaxson Dart, who was likely a significant draw in helping to lure both Harbaugh and Likely to the team.

Likely spoke with the media on Monday and offered high praise for Dart based on their short time working together.

"You guys see it every day. He's swaggy. He always has a smile, and he's always being competitive," Likely said. "I mean, whether he makes a play or misses a play, he's going to give the next play everything he's got and try to score every time he has the ball.

"Whether he's running the ball or throwing the ball or really telling everybody where to go, he's really what you look for in a starting quarterback."

With all the changes on the offensive side of the ball, the Giants are expected to have a very different look in how they move the ball down the field. Likely certainly provides an upgrade at the tight end position.

The Giants clearly liked what they believe Likely can bring to the table. He might be heavily relied upon in the early part of the season if Malik Nabers is unable to suit up at the beginning of the year.

The adjustment for both Harbaugh and Likely in moving from Lamar Jackson to Dart may prove relatively straightforward, given the similarities in their playing styles. Clearly, Likely has been impressed with what he has seen in his early work with his new quarterback.
