Jazz Chisholm Jr. is struggling to gain momentum at the plate for the New York Yankees.
Before the season started, Chisholm confidently revealed that he believed he could hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases this season. It's fairly safe to say the 50 homers are not going to happen, as the impending free agent has yet to send one into the seats.
The trade deadline is months away, but the Yankees could move on from Chisholm or acquire an additional proven second baseman if he continues to fail to meet expectations.
Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller linked an All-Star from the San Francisco Giants to the Yankees, among many clubs, on Wednesday.
"Meanwhile, the Yankees, Red Sox, Phillies, Royals, Guardians, and Reds have all gotten a .186 or worse batting average from the second base slot in their lineup thus far this season," Miller wrote. "They would all be salivating over the possibility of adding [Luis] Arraez if that continues to be the case."

Arraez is a three-time batting champion who offers little besides superb bat-to-ball skills. He lacks power, is not a fast runner, and has historically graded poorly on defense.
Consider Arraez as New York's backup plan if they decide to trade Chisholm at the deadline. He is off to a fairly average start with the Giants, hitting .302/.333/.360 with just one extra-base hit and a .694 OPS in 94 trips to the plate.
Like Chisholm, the 29-year-old will reach free agency at the conclusion of the season.
