Cam Skattebo gave Giants fans everywhere a bit of a scare this weekend when video surfaced of him attempting to do a backflip on stage during a Fanatics Fest appearance in New York City.
Skattebo, who is still recovering from a gruesome season-ending lower-body injury, pointed to that surgically repaired right leg before launching himself into the air for the acrobatic move.
He lost his balance upon landing and fell backward awkwardly, sparking concern for Big Blue faithful.
Back at Fanatics Fest on Sunday, the RB explained what went wrong and made sure to ease everyone’s minds.
“I will not hurt myself before the season,” Skattebo emphasized. “I don’t know if you guys know WWE or not, but those floors are bouncy so when I took off and was in midair I was like holy cow I’m not gonna to land this, I’m way too high.
“I landed but I had too much cushion, it wasn’t a stiff firm ground so I kind of went back, safely landed, got back up and was good to go -- nothing came out from that, I’m perfectly fine, nothing happened, we’re good.”

Skattebo had been progressing well when the team wrapped up their offseason program last month, and he's expected to be out there with them early on in training camp.
Back fully healthy, he figures to play a big roll in John Harbaugh's always run-heavy offense.
The 24-year-old had taken the league by storm before going down with the injury, racking up 617 yards from scrimmage and seven touchdowns over his first eight games (five starts).
