The Alabama Crimson Tide will host their annual A-Day event Saturday at noon inside Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium. It won't feel like any of the A-Day events of past years.
This year's spring game isn't actually a game. No score will be kept, 15-minute quarters will not be played, and there certainly won't be an ESPN crew there to broadcast the event live across the country.
Reasons for that vary but A-Day 2025 is more a showcasing of talent, a practice session that fans in attendance can watch.

In any event, senior wide receiver Germie Bernard is one player who isn't lacking for confidence heading into Saturday. In his second season with the Crimson Tide and third overall with head coach Kalen DeBoer dating back to Washington in 2023, Bernard spoke to the media after Alabama's third and final scrimmage of spring practice Thursday.
He made something of a bold claim when asked if Alabama's receiving corps was one of the best in the country.
After calling the group "explosive, very explosive," Bernard was asked if there was any name or specific player who came to mind that made Alabama's receiver corps among the best in the nation. "Everyone," he said with a chuckle.
Is there a certain drill that fans should watch or pay close attention to Saturday?
"They should watch everything," Bernard beamed. "Our practices are very intense, so it kind of simulates the game in a way (where) we're not going to be live, but it's going to be some intensity. It's going to be some thudding, guys making plays. It's not going to really be a falloff from the live period. That's the only thing that we missing really, but other than that I think it's going to be a great opportunity for us to have another practice and get better as a team.
What about incoming players that fans should keep an eye on?
Bernard added that spring practice had been great overall for his group.
"We're improving each and every scrimmage," he said. "We've been out there playing relentless. I think there's always room to grow, so we're just going to watch the film, reevaluate and come out better for the next practice."
Asked about Miami Hurricanes transfer receiver Isaiah Horton, Bernard said:

"No doubt. Most definitely. We've got all the attributes in the room. Everybody can do everything... We've got a lot of speed. We've got a lot of strength. We got guys that can block, we got guys that can make contested catches, we got guys that are tough, we got guys that can get open."

"It's really too many to name. I can't lie. We've got some ballers, man. We really do. I will tell them this: look at the freshman roster that came in and pay attention to all of them."

Asked about Miami Hurricanes transfer receiver Isaiah Horton, Bernard said:
"Obviously we see the length that he brings. He has great natural hands. He has great speed. He can stretch the field. He can make contested catches, so it's going to be good for the offense. We have another weapon that can go out there and ball and plus, he has experience within the game so he has a lot of IQ and he has a good feel for the game."
On where the receiving corps is as a whole heading into Saturday, Bernard said:
"To be honest, our main focus as a receiver corp is being as diligent as we can. Our offense is very detailed and Coach Shep (receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard), he really harps on that and blocking as well. Because if you block, the coaching staff is going to want to get you the ball. So just being selfless."
