After the World Cup flame out that has captured the attention of football fans worldwide, the German national is starting to plan for its next phase.

While the future for head coach Julian Nagelsmann is uncertain as of now, there are decisions being made in the background on the roster. According to Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), Leon Goretzka, Leroy Sané, Antonio Rüdiger, Pascal Groß, and Oliver Baumann are all likely out of the mix. However, captain Joshua Kimmich is still expected to be part of the squad moving forward:

Leon Goretzka, Leroy Sané, Antonio Rüdiger, Pascal Groß, Oliver Baumann are likely to have played their last game for Germany. There will certainly be a major ‘cut’ after the World Cup. Captain Joshua Kimmich, as he has announced himself, will continue as one of the leaders of the ‘new national team.’

None of this will come as shock to fans and, in fact, some will ponder why a few of the players were even called to the team for this World Cup.
