Germany left back Nathaniel Brown has completed his move from Eintracht Frankfurt to Bayern Munich, the German record champions said on Friday.
The 23-year-old has signed a contract until June 30, 2031.
The transfer was finalized just days after Germany's early exit at the World Cup following a surprise round of 32 defeat to Paraguay on Monday.
Brown, who only broke into the Germany team this last season, returned to the starting line-up for the loss after missing the final group defeat against Ecuador with an adductor injury. He impressed in the earlier group stage wins over Curaçao and Ivory Coast.
The obligatory medical, which had been due to take place on the sidelines of the World Cup in the US, was instead carried out in Munich this week.
"We’re delighted to have brought a player to FC Bayern in Nathaniel Brown who’s enjoyed such a rapid development but still has so much potential and is one for the future," board member for sport Max Eberl said.
"He made his mark at the World Cup and showed why we’ve been looking at him for a while. He’ll expand our options in both defence and midfield."
On Wednesday, Bayern also signed Morocco World Cup forward Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven.
The Bundesliga clubs did not comment on the financial details of Brown's move. Media reports say the transfer package is around €55 million ($63 million). Frankfurt are said to have initially demanded more than €60 million.
Brown said: "FC Bayern is one of the best clubs in the world. It means so much to me to have the chance to play for this club and it fills me with pride. I also come from Bavaria, which makes it even more special. I’ve always dreamed of playing for the biggest titles at the highest level."
Bayern wanted a new left back because Raphaël Guerreiro left and Alphonso Davies is injury-prone.
