The San Francisco 49ers drafted Georgia Bulldogs defensive end Mykel Williams with the No. 11 pick in the 2025 NFL draft. Williams is expected to see significant playing time as a rookie for the 49ers. He'll help fortify the 49ers' interior run defense and has elite pass rush upside down the road.

Williams is projected to sign a four-year, $24.9 million contract with San Francisco, per Spotrac. He's expected to earn a $14.75 million signing bonus. Like all first-round picks, the 49ers with have a fifth-year option on Williams down the road.

49ers general manager John Lynch considers Williams to be "the best edge setter in college football" and made the draft call to tell Williams that he'd be picking him. Williams did not post gaudy statistics during his three year career at Georgia, but he did record 14 career sacks.

Williams showed up when it mattered the most. During Georgia's 2022 College Football Playoff run, he recorded two sacks as a true freshman as UGA won the national championship. In 2024, Williams recorded four sacks in Georgia's two big games against Texas. Williams and the Georgia defensive front dominated Texas in both of their 2024 meetings.
