NFL.com released its predictions for the 2026 All-Rookie Team, which included 25 players across offense, defense, and special teams. Among those mentioned on the team is former Georgia Bulldogs linebacker C.J. Allen.
Allen was drafted in the second round, 53rd overall, by the Indianapolis Colts in the 2026 NFL Draft. Allen is being added to a team that lost veterans like Zaire Franklin, who was traded to the Green Bay Packers in March. Allen has been seen as someone who can potentially lead the defense as a rookie.
Allen played college football for the Bulldogs from 2023-2025, racking up 205 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, 11 passes defended, two forced fumbles and an interception. He also has a plethora of accolades, including consensus All-American and first-team All-SEC, and was named a finalist for the Butkus Award and the Lott Impact Trophy.
Allen is expected to be a Week 1 starter for the Colts. His leadership and athleticism should allow him to produce right away as a rookie.
One of the names that was not on the team is Carolina Panthers offensive tackle Monroe Freeling. Freeling was drafted by Carolina in the first round, 19th overall, of the 2026 NFL Draft. Freeling adds an anchor to the offensive line to help quarterback Bryce Young.
Freeling was a Bulldog from 2023-2025, being named second-team All-SEC in 2025. He should start in Week 1 and will have plenty of chances to prove himself as an All-Rookie performer.
