I would like to see some winning,
It was rough at year’s beginning:
Fan apathy a warning sign,
Ownership said they’re fine.
Ninety in: mediocre,
The hands are dealt and we are all the joker.
But now a streak, a morning sign:
Maybe they’re finally fine?

It’s still sixty feet six that they have to throw.
We’re trying to wish; can we shake the standing woe?

There’s a break up and coming
Where one of ours will be out — that’s numbing.
It’s yet another warning sign,
Or will the rest be fine?
Focus on tonight: we’ve wondered
If somehow this team might reach .500,
And could that be a morning sign
Showing us how they’re fine?

And cracks at the dish — that should make a thrilling show.
