I just watched the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival on Turner Movie Classics.

I now see that Gallen is in a real pitchers battle leading 1-0. We
have only two hits.

Oops, the Giants have scored four runs in the 6th and the bases
are loaded with no one out. Steve said four singles and two walks.

Should I even turn it on? Yeah, I will put it on in the background.

A double-play. Runners on 2nd & 3rd. Guerra is pitching. And the
inning ends. Gallen was tagged for all four runs, after having rolled
along for five innings.

The highlight of the game? The Giants Peralta is pitching to our Peralta.
And their Peralta won the battle.

We've won 2 out of our last 15 games.

And now even Gallen has the wheels come off, giving up 4 runs in 5 innings to a weak hitting Giants team.

Lovullo is going to leave no player unruined, is he?...

You know I want Torey gone, but I can't jump to the conclusion
that today was Torey's fault.

Perhaps the league is adjusting to Gallen. Let's see if his manager
and pitching coach can adjust as well.

I think we already know the answer to that...

And as you noted, it is impossible to pitch all the time in such high stress situations with zero offensive support, which means zero margin for error.

The Freight Train with a solo HR (a line drive) in the 9th. Giants win 4-2.

The D-backs had 3 hits in the game.

Steve said the D-backs have now won 2 of their last 18 games. I posted
above 2 out of 15. I'll go back and check. Either way, it's obscene!

Yup, I hadn't gone far enough back. We've won 2 out of the last 18.

That's a .111 winning percentage for the last 18 games, most of which
were before the fire sale. You would think it would take nine Jake Lamb's
in the lineup to be at .111.

We've wanted Salvatore Lovullo to be consistent. Not this kind of
consistent.

The only thing worse would be putting Daron Sutton and Mark Grace
back calling games, with Sutton's verbal abuse and Grace's "I'm a baaad
boy" Abbott & Costello slapstick burlesque routine.

Dodgers at Chase tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday all at 6:30.
The over/under bet is . . . will any of the guys be here to post, beyond
the two of us?

Hey, 1Sun, do you have a sense of humor? At least you won't be shut
down for a week, considering how the two of us saw this coming all
season. Part of me feels a little sorry for Torey. He is in over his head.
But it looks like management won't put him, or us, out of his misery.

The “Freight Train” is still slugging sub .400 with that HR.

Might be time for us to go Mystery Science Theater 3000 with this team's games...
