The No. 8 Florida State Seminoles softball team completed their sweep of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday with a 8-4 win at JoAnne Graf Field in Tallahassee, Florida. They have now won 24 games, improving to 35-4 overall and 12-0 in ACC play.

FSU had to fight back to earn the win. Notre Dame took a 4-0 lead in the second inning with a three-run homer off of FSU starter Bella Dimitrijevic. A one-out double in the third inning ended her day as Jazzy Francik took over. Dimitrijevic allowed all four runs on five hits and a walk in 2 1/3 innings.

Florida State got on the board in the third inning when Isa Torres worked a leadoff walk and got to third on a throwing error on what should have been a groundout by Marin Heller. Ashtyn Danley singled Torres home with a single before Anna Hinde drove in two runs with a single, making it a 4-3 game. A flyout and a caught stealing ended the threat.

Torres once again sparked a rally in the fourth, working a two-out walk and scoring on a triple by Jaysoni Beachum. It was her first triple of the season and second of her career. FSU took its first lead in the fifth inning when Kennedy Harp doubled home Danley, putting them up 5-4.

Notre Dame put the go-ahead run on in the sixth inning with nobody out as Francik issued back-to-back walks to start the inning. Head coach Lonni Alameda called for Danley to try to escape the jam. She did just that, inducing a double-play before ending the inning with another groundout.

FSU's offense kept it going in the bottom of the inning, scoring three more runs to provide some insurance. They started it with two singles before Danley advanced both runners with a groundout. Anna Hinde came through, driving both in with a single before getting to third on a double by Makenna Sturgis and scoring on a Harp single, putting FSU up 8-4.

FSU finished the game with 13 hits and four walks. They hit .545 (6-11) with two outs, driving in five of their runs. Five different Seminoles had two or more hits, and Harp had a team-high three. Danley had two hits and drove in one run. She also pitched two scoreless innings to earn the save.

The Seminoles will spend next week in California, playing Santa Clara University on Wednesday and the Stanford Cardinal over the weekend. Wednesday's game will start at 9 p.m. ET and will be streamed on ESPN+.
