The scenario remains the same for Florida State baseball.
It's win or go home.
The No. 10-seeded Seminoles have won two straight after a stunning loss to St. John's in the opening round of the Tallahassee Regional. FSU beat Coastal Carolina 2-1 and Northern Illinois 7-4 in extra innings to get a rematch with the Johnnies in the regional final at Dick Howser Stadium.
For FSU to win a third consecutive regional under head coach Link Jarrett, the Seminoles will need to beat St. John's twice, with the first game on Monday, June 1, set for noon. Should game one result in a win for FSU, that will force a winner-takes-all game seven at approximately 4 p.m.
The big question for the Seminoles to answer in the game, or games, against St. John's is the pitching staff. FSU has used its top three starters, lefties Wes Mendes and Trey Beard, and righty Bryson Moore, this weekend, and top bullpen arms have been leaned on to help push the team into the regional final.
St. John's has played two games and got a full day of rest on Saturday due to weather delays to rest some arms before the program bludgeoned Northern Illinois, 21-8, in the winners' bracket game to advance to the Tallahassee Regional final. The Johhnies have some fresh arms, so it's on FSU's offense to find its spark to challenge them.
