Ed did some quick research and came up with these astounding figures:

1996 combine, simeon rice ran a 4.84 and 4.89. he
bettered those times at a later workout but ran that at the combine.

Michael Strahan ran 4.93 at 253 pounds.

Man, that's tenacious. Firing that stuff off from all the way over there.

I sent some Leftwich propaganda east via carrier pigeon but I don't know if it'll get there in time.

If I recall..simeon had a 10 or less on the wonderlich and did poorly in the bench press (thought it was around 20 - not sure)...but we all know that beige kind of overruled everyone else and drafted rice...me and everyone else (media) thought it was big mistake...

can lightening strike twice? except this time with a guy who wants to play here and stick around?

If you talk to Ed again, ask him what the atmosphere is like in New York after the Jets trade.

portland fan..very true..and suggs and rice seem to have long arms..I think wendall bryant may have fared poorly in this for the same reason..not sure..I was just comparing rice's workout #'s to suggs.

The more info being released, the sillier the people that say that Suggs is slow and weak look.

Suggs is equal to Rice, Strahan, Peppers, and Wiley (the 4 ends imo). DRAFT SUGGS (or Leftwich).

The pigeon arrived DOA. I couldn't read its message :)

These figures are an eye-opener, no?

They are indeed.

At this point I don't really care who it is, I'm just in it for the chaos from here on out.

It's almost time for my "Trade Up" thread. After that we're all gonna fight in the parking lot.

question - when was Strahan drafted? What were Simeon's time the second workout? Why were these things ommitted?

The figures were just interesting, calm down.

Rice re-ran a 4.68 on a rubber track.

Strahan was an 8th rounder.

To cheesebeef, I wasn't trying to imply anything.....just keep in mind that other players, even top 5 picks, have run horrible times in the past.

A player running on a rubber track is meaningless. Rice's times on football turf were in the 4.8s.

hey man - I'm no upset or anything, but if you're trying to say you weren't trying to imply anything, then what exactly was the point of your post. It's real easy to make an argument when you don't present ALL the facts.

I'm not against taking Suggs. As far as these comparisons go, however, aren't Rice and especially Strahan bigger than Suggs?
