“Fresh Faces on the Forty” marches on and it’s all about Chris Stewart today. Stewart comes in from Shadow Creek High School as the No. 60 WR in the country and No. 49 player in Texas this cycle. He joins Jermaine Bishop and Kohen Brown in this WR group and likely has the longest path to the field of all. That being said, this is someone that fits Sarkisian's offense perfectly and can fly in the open field.
High School Stats: 1,620 receiving yards, 73.4 receiving yards per game, 25 TDs in two seasons
Stewart, like many top recruits today, did most of his damage in high school during his sophomore and junior seasons. He only played five games in his senior year but shined in the two years prior. He walks into a loaded WR room, meaning he’s unlikely to see the field much in 2026, but it will allow him to refine his ability and add weight to his frame. This is someone that has a massive year ahead of him, even if the field isn’t a part of it.
The plus Stewart brings is his ability in the return game. This is somewhere he could be an impact player early in his career before finding a permanent home at WR. Given the size and ability, he’s likely a slot WR. That is a position that should have snaps up for grabs heading into 2027 with Emmett Mosley and Ryan Niblett likely moving on. Stewart could be someone we are talking about battling with Daylan McCutcheon for snaps this time next year.
I wouldn’t expect to hear the name Chris Stewart too often on Saturdays in the fall but I’m bullish about his future. Elite speed, strong route running abilities and positional versatility that can get him on the field fast. The player is another one with a longer road to the field but could break through on special teams. We’ll cover Jett Walker and what makes me think he could be tough to keep off the field tomorrow.

Texas commit Chris Stewart is a PROBLEM @C1JS_
The 4-star wideout is the No. 172 prospect in the ESPN 300 and a threat to score everytime he touches the ball. Coming out to work at UA Next Camp in Houston #UANext
