Triple Olympic champion Julia Simon of France kept up her good form beyond last month's Milan/Cortina Games to claim victory in a biathlon World Cup sprint race on Friday in Estonia.

Simon won the 7.5 kilometres event in Otepää 2.9 seconds ahead of Italy's Lisa Vittozzi for her third season success and 14th overall.

World Cup leader Lou Jeanmonnot of France was third, 22.9 seconds off the pace as all podium finishers shot clean in sunny but windy conditions at the venue which will host next year's world championships.

Pursuit races for men and women are scheduled for Saturday in Otepää, and a mixed relay and single mixed relay for Sunday. The season ends next week in Oslo.
