The women's freestyle skiing Olympic halfpipe qualifier on Thursday was overshadowed by a rough crash suffered by Canada's 2018 gold medallist Cassie Sharpe.

Sharpe took a fall right near the end of her second run and, after receiving emergency care, was taken off course on a stretcher.

There were big cheers when she managed to wave at the crowd.

Sharpe was third overall thanks to her first run, but it's unclear whether he will be able to compete in the final on Saturday.

Britain's Zoe Atkin topped the qualification, while Chinese superstar Eileen Gu was fifth.
