IOWA CITY — 2026 Iowa Mr. Basketball winner Jaidyn Coon will take an official visit with the Hawkeyes on Tuesday, March 31.
Coon’s grassroots program, D1 Minnesota, announced the visit on social media.
Coon is a four-star prospect and ranked 116th nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite. He is the third-ranked player in the state of Iowa's 2026 high school class.
Coon averaged 22 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.7 steals per game during his senior season at Storm Lake High School.
The 6-foot-7 wing was set to attend Creighton but reopened his recruitment after longtime head coach Greg McDermott announced his retirement.
"After recent changes at Creighton, I will be reopening my recruitment," Coon announced on March 24. "I’m grateful for Coach McDermott and the entire Creighton staff. I’ll continue to evaluate my options moving forward, with Creighton still very much in consideration."

Coon is a product of Storm Lake, the same city where Iowa head coach McCollum grew up. Outside of Iowa and Creighton, Coon has also been pursued by Nebraska, Illinois and others. Drake offered him when McCollum was still the head coach of the Bulldogs.
The Hawkeyes currently have one signee in their 2026 high school recruiting class. Four-star wing Ethan Harris picked Iowa over Washington, Gonzaga and Boise State.
If the Hawkeyes could land Coon this time around, it would give them another promising piece in the class alongside Harris.
