The Georgia Bulldogs got major good news for their basketball recruiting,. Class of 2027 shooting guard Justin Wise from North Oconee High School (Bogart, Georgia) has committed to Georgia basketball today.
Wise chose the Bulldogs over schools such as Miami, Texas, Vanderbilt, and Tennessee. This is a big win for Georgia as they get a commitment from a four-star in-state prospect. Wise is rated as the seventh best player in the state and the No. 3 shooting guard in the country. He's the No. 54 recruit in the country.
Wise visited Georgia back in February, and made his commitment six months later. He does still have more visits scheduled this fall, per 247Sports. Wise does well at shooting the three and creating opportunities on the floor. He could make an immediate impact at Georgia in 2027, with players like guard Blue Cain potentially graduating.
At 6-foot-4, Wise is on par with other college guards height-wise, but he's listed at 175 pounds. If he can gain weight and get stronger, that would make him more of a defensive asset.
Wise's commitment is Georgia basketball coach Mike White's first in the class of 2027. The Bulldogs have the No. 14 recruiting class in the country following Wise's decision to stay home. Georgia is also contending for other elite basketball recruits. The UGA program has made back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances and recently received the biggest donation in program history.
