The Red Storm just lost their only high school commitment in the 2026 recruiting class.
Four-star guard Adam Oumiddoch announced Tuesday night that he is de-committing from St. John’s and re-opening his recruitment.
“This wasn’t an easy decision, and it comes with a great deal of respect for the St. John’s program,” Oumiddoch said in a statement posted on social media, “I appreciate the support and look forward to what’s next.”
According to Zach Braziller from the New York Post, Oumiddoch and St. John’s couldn’t find middle ground on a financial agreement.
Oumiddoch originally committed to St. John’s last November, choosing the Red Storm over offers from Illinois, LSU, Oregon, and Villanova. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Arlington, Virginia is the 53rd-ranked player and the tenth-ranked guard in the 2026 class according to 247Sports.
Playing for Cold Hearts, a team in the Overtime Elite league, Oumiddoch averaged a team-high 28.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in the 2025-26 regular season, shooting 49.8% from the field, 38.9% from three, and 89.1% on free throws.
St. John’s now has nine scholarship players for the 2026-27 season following Oumiddoch’s de-commitment, seven of whom are guards with remaining eligibility like Dylan Darling, Joson Sanon, Ian Jackson, and Lefteris Liotopoulos.
