POTOMAC PARK — Peyton Blocher gave Fort Cumberland Post 13 the lead in the fourth, and its pitching held down Potomac Valley Post 64 for a 4-2 win on Monday at Memorial Field.

Blocher's two-out knock down the left-field line in the fourth gave Fort Cumberland (7-2) a 2-1 advantage. Bryson Krumpach leveled the tally with a run-scoring single up the middle two batters prior.

Kohen Madden tacked on an insurance run with an RBI double to center field in the fifth, and Cole Ricker added a sacrifice fly in the sixth.

Peyton Durst got a run back for Potomac Valley (7-5-1) in the seventh with a single for an RBI. Post 64 then loaded the bases with one out trailing 4-2.

Jake Rice got out of the jam with a pop-out and a groundout to record the six-out save.

Cole Ricker was the winning pitcher, tossing 1 1/3 innings of shutout ball in relief of Krumpach, who had a no-decision allowing a run on three hits in 3 2/3 frames.

Potomac Valley's Landon Tysinger had three hits, Blake Jacobs tripled, James Vincell doubled, and Lucas Williamson drove in the game's first run with an RBI single in the third.

Kaleb Kuhn was dealt the loss despite four quality innings to start in which he surrendered two runs on three hits in four innings.

Williamson gave up two runs on three hits in two frames of relief.

Fort Cumberland (5-1 Mountain District) can clinch the district title with a doubleheader split of Garrett County (5-9, 1-5 district) on Tuesday night.

Post 13 then takes on Charleston Post 65 (12-8) on Friday at 4 p.m. at Frankfort as part of the Potomac State tournament.

Potomac Valley faces Funkstown Post 211 (11-4) on Friday at 10 a.m. and Charleston at 7 p.m. at Frankfort in the Potomac State tournament.
