The NBA draft tipped off Tuesday with the first round at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The draft consists of two rounds and 60 picks. The second and final round will be held Wednesday (ESPN).

Former Tennessee guard Cameron Carr was selected by New York with the No. 24 overall pick in the first round and was traded to the Lakers. Los Angeles drafted former Vol Dalton Knecht in the first round of the 2024 NBA draft (No.17 overall).

Carr played for the Vols from 2023-25.

As a freshman in the 2023-24 season, he appeared in 14 games, including six starts. Carr totaled 23 points and seven assists, while playing 60 minutes during his first collegiate season.

During the 2024-25 season, he appeared in four games before leaving the program and transferring to Baylor. At Tennessee, Carr averaged 1.6 points per game as a freshman and suffered a thumb injury four games into his sophomore campaign before transferring. He is the 12th NBA draft pick to play for head coach Rick Barnes at Tennessee.

Carr played for the Bears during the 2025-26 season. He was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Year and was a Third-Team All-Big 12 selection. Carr averaged 18.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.
