Former Tennessee State defensive end Eriq George posted on his X account April 22 that he will follow his father, coach Eddie George, to Bowling Green State.

Eddie George, a former Tennessee Titans All-Pro running back, was TSU's coach the previous four seasons. He was named Bowling Green State's coach on March 9.

Eriq George, a sophomore this past season, entered the transfer portal on March 19. He was TSU's fifth-leading tackler in 2024 with 52 total tackles. He had 12 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks.

In his two years at TSU, Eriq George had 77 total tackles, 18 for loss, and 8.0 sacks.

The former Montgomery Bell Academy standout made the All-Big South/Ohio Valley Conference second team in 2024 after being the co-freshman defensive player of the year in 2023.

Seven former TSU assistant coaches — Brandon Fisher, Travis Partridge, Dewayne Alexander, Joe Bowden, Josh Crawford, Richard McNutt and Clyde Simmons — also followed Eddie George to Bowling Green State.
