Tennessee Titans head coach Robert Saleh reportedly had a detailed plan for Cam Ward and the offense when he interviewed for the head coaching position, but here, almost a week later, the team sits without an offensive coordinator, and the top options are coming off the board.

First, it was Mike McDaniel, who many had speculated could be a target, but he agreed to terms with the Los Angeles Chargers and is still in the running for a couple of head coach openings. Since then, multiple names, including Brian Daboll, Arthur Smith, Kliff Kingsbury, and Bobby Slowik, have been mentioned in connection with the opening. Now, another one of those is off the board.

Smith has been both a coordinator and a head coach in the NFL, and the move to the college ranks was not on many people's radar.

Now that both Smith and McDaniel are off the board and the number of candidates is shrinking, there is a chance some clarity will emerge in the coming days.
