As the Tennessee Titans continue to navigate their new roster with the second week of OTAs underway, a former player signed with their divisional rivals.
Houston Texans reporter Aaron Wilson of KRPC 2 reported they signed former Titans wide receiver and return specialist Jha'Quan Jackson to a contract.
The former 6th-round pick of the 2024 NFL draft spent one season with the Titans as their primary return specialist on kick and punt returns. He played 12 games for the team during the 2024 season, finishing with a combined 627 return yards on 44 total returns. He also caught one pass for eight yards as a wide receiver.
However, he was benched by former head coach Brian Callahan after muffing five combined kick and punt returns in his first 12 games as the primary return specialist. The Titans drafted wide receiver and return specialist Chimere Dike in the 4th round in the following draft, leading to Jackson being waived by the Titans during their final 53-man roster cuts for the 2025 season.
After going unsigned for the first two months of the NFL season, Jackson signed with the New Orleans Saints' practice squad in mid-November. After he was waived by the Saints, he signed with the United Football League's (UFL) St. Louis Battlehawks in January, before being waived ahead of their season opener in March. Jackson now finds himself back in the NFL in the same division as the team that originally drafted him just two years ago.
