On Tuesday evening, two former Texas A&M standouts who were selected in the first and second round of the 2026 NFL Draft signed their rookie deals, as star wide receiver KC Concepcion put pen to paper, signing a reported 4-year deal worth $20 million with the Cleveland Browns, while Edge Cashius Howell made things official with the Cincinnati Bengals, signing a 4 year, $12 million deal.
After transferring from Bowling Green before the 2024 season, Howell was initially utilized as a reserve pass rusher, but found himself playing more snaps as the season went on, recording 40 tackles, four sacks, and seven pass deflections during his first season in College Station.
Going into what would be his final season with the Aggies, Howell's personal expectations were sky high, and that belief paid off, leading to the senior's breakout campaign with 11.5 sacks and over 30 pressures, which only a few in Aggie media, including myself, 247Sports insider Tony Catalina, and others projected would happen.
Howell was rightfully named Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Year, while becoming the 11th unanimous All-American in Texas A&M Football history. In his career at both Bowling Green and Texas A&M, Howell appeared in 56 games and recorded 127 tackles, 35.5 tackles for loss, 27 sacks, 15 pass breakups, one interception, three forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.
