Last season, the Pittsburgh Steelers special teams took a huge hit when safety Miles Killebrew went down with a serious knee injury in Week 6. This was the worst thing that could happen for Killebrew heading into free agency. On Thursday, the news came out that Killebrew was not returning to the Steelers and was signing a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers worth $1.8 million.

Killebrew joins his former special teams coach, Danny Smith, who is now the special teams coordinator in Tampa Bay. Killebrew joined the Steelers in 2021 and quickly established himself as the best special teamer in the NFL. He made two Pro Bowls and was a First-Team All-Pro in 2023.

The Steelers handed over the special teams captain duties to wide receiver Ben Skowronek, where he shone. Killebrew joins the Bucs for his 11th NFL season.
