Former Spartan CB set to transfer back to Michigan State football

The transfer portal is full of surprises, and one major shock has hit Michigan State football, who is bringing a former player back home.

After spending four years in East Lansing, Charles Brantley made the decision to transfer to Miami, where he spent the 2025 season. He will be returning to Michigan State in 2026.

A 6'0", 165 pound cornerback, Brantley was a multi-year starter in East Lansing under both previous coaching staffs. The Venice (FL) native will now be able to finish his career where he started it, in East Lansing with the Spartans.

During his four year run with the Spartans, Brantley secured 103 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, one sack and five interceptions. In 2024, he graded as a 81.8 in run defense and 75.9 in coverage, per PFF.
