Reuben Lowery beat the odds and made the 53-man roster as an undrafted free agent. He wasn't the most significant problem on an underachieving defense, but he paid the ultimate price. In what can be described as shocking, Baltimore waived Lowery after signing C.J. Gardner-Johnson to the practice squad and trading for safety Alohi Gilman.

Lowery wasn't unemployed long, getting claimed off waivers by the AFC South leading Indianapolis Colts. Lowery (5-9, 204) posted 166 tackles, including 19 tackles for loss, three interceptions (two returned for touchdowns), and 15 passes defended during his time at Tennessee-Chattanooga. Lowery made the Ravens' 53-man roster as a do-it-all defensive back and started games at safety.
