It's very rare to hear good news about punters in today's NFL. However, Penn State has gotten some pretty solid news about one of their former ones.

On Monday, March 9th, former Penn State punter Jordan Stout inked a deal with the New York Giants that made NFL history. Not only did he sign a three year deal worth 12.3 million dollars, but the 4.1 million dollar annual value has made him the highest paid punter in NFL history. Only Michael Dickson of the Seattle Seahawks has a contract worth over 4 million annually amongst punters.

It should be said that Stout is well deserving of his contract as he was just recently named to both the Pro Bowl and the first team All Pro team while still with the Ravens. Last season, he averaged 47.5 yards per punt and downed nearly 40 percent of his punts inside the 20.

He has made Penn State proud after being one of their most illustrious kickers in program history. He was named to the first team All-Big Ten team in 2021 as well as being a consensus second team All-American.
