NFL free agency technically isn't officially underway yet, but with the legal tampering period open, teams across the league have begun agreeing to terms with players across the league. The New England Patriots have already made a couple of deals, but they have also watched some of their former players land with new teams.
Just one day after watching former kicker Chad Ryland re-sign with the Arizona Cardinals, another one of New England's ex-kickers has found a new home. That would be Nick Folk, who spent the 2025 campaign with the New York Jets. At 41 years old, Folk is still going strong, as he's reportedly decided to move on from the Jets in free agency to sign a two-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons.
"Still kicking; The Falcons are signing veteran Nick Folk to a two-year deal, per sources," Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported in a post on X. "At age 41, Folk is back for a 20th NFL season on a deal negotiated by Gary Uberstine and Michael Hoffman."
Folk was the Pats' kicker from 2019 to 2022, and during that time, he turned himself into the most accurate kicker in the league. Folk has led the league in field goal percentage over the past three seasons, as he missed just one of his 29 field goal attempts in 2025 with the Jets.
He may not have the biggest leg in the league, but even as he enters his 40s, Folk has remained one of the most valuable kickers in the game. While New York has had a big day in free agency, it will now have to find a proper replacement for Folk after he left the team at the altar on Monday.
