There are suggestions that the quarterback situation for the Minnesota Vikings will be an open competition between J.J. McCarthy and newly acquired Kyler Murray. However, fans believe the job already belongs to Murray, who is looking to revitalize his career in Minnesota. However, one ESPN analyst believes that he may end the season as the top quarterback in his division.
While appearing on ESPN’s Get Up, former NFL linebacker Bart Scott made the claim that Murray may top the division by the end of the year:
“At the end of this season, I think we may say that Kyler Murray is the best quarterback within the division… I think the sky’s the limit for Kyler Murray.”
Murray, a former number one overall pick back in 2019, found success early in Arizona, but was marred with injuries, ultimately resulting in his release by the Cardinals this offseason. He would sign a one-year deal with Minnesota, with the idea of him competing in camp with J.J. McCarthy. As mentioned, the assumption is that he will be the starter week one, surrounded by the best support cast he has had in his NFL career. Could he end the year as the top quarterback in the division?
