The Boston Celtics came up short in Game 1 of their playoff series against the New York Knicks on Monday night by a final score of 108-105. It was a bad loss to begin the series.
Entering the series, the two teams were expected to put on a show. However, the Celtics were widely viewed as the better team and favorite to win the series.
While it's just Game 1, Boston blew a 16-point halftime lead. Losing in that fashion can be difficult to bounce back, especially with the amount of momentum the Knicks gained from the win. The Celtics need to come back strong and take Game 2.
Kendrick Perkins, a former NBA champion and Boston player himself, spoke out on "First Take" with a stern warning to the Celtics before Game 2.
"If [the Celtics] go down 0-2, this series is over with," he said boldly.
Even though a 2-0 series lead is not insurmountable, that kind of start is extremely difficult to overcome.

Following the loss, Jayson Tatum spoke out and gave reason for optimism. He believes Boston simply had an off game from a shooting perspective.
"I could have put more pressure on the rim," he said. "But there's a lot of times we felt like we got some really, really good looks and just couldn't convert."
Jaylen Brown also echoed the same sentiment.
"That's an abnormal game for us in terms of shooting the basketball," Brown said.
Game 2 will be played on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. ET with the game being aired on TNT.
