In the NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and the New York Knicks, there are plenty of talented players. This includes the Knicks' superstar guard, Jalen Brunson, who has been an impressive player for a long while now.
He is quite a small player, standing at only 6'2". To most people, that is above average, but in the NBA, that is a tiny player. Despite his height, he has become an unstoppable player and is considered one of the league's best.

The NBA is filled with talented guards, and Brunson is among the very best. However, he is not among the league's best because Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander holds that spot.
He is the back-to-back MVP for a reason because he continues to be the pinnacle of guard play in the NBA. Unfortunately, he could not lead his team to a second consecutive NBA Finals.

Now, Brunson has become such a good player on offense that former champions like Sean Elliot are picking Brunson over him. It's hard to blame him because he makes a valid point about Brunson's game.
"I actually think Brunson's a bigger problem, I really do. He shoots the three-ball more, shoots better, and is a better finisher at the rim. SGA has a magnificent in-between game; they get to the foul line a lot, but right now, Jalen Brunson is a little bit more of a problem," Elliot said on SiriusXM NBA Radio ahead of Game 2.
Those are some big statements to make, especially with how SGA played this season. However, Brunson is the one in the NBA Finals winning games, while SGA failed to lead his team to a title defense.
It might be a bold statement to make, but Elliot makes interesting points. This should be the kind of statement that will motivate SGA further, as he will be hungry to get his payback against the Spurs next season and leap over Brunson.
