After spending last season playing in Europe in the Latvian league, where he stood out as one of the top players in that league, Frankie Fidler will get another opportunity to fulfill his NBA dreams. On Wednesday, it was announced that Fidler will suit up for the Portland Trail Blazers at NBA Summer League, joining former teammates like Jaden Akins, Carson Cooper, and Jaxon Kohler at the annual showcase in Las Vegas.

Fidler, who was named the MVP of the month for November in the Latvian league, helped lead Rigas Zelli to a Latvian Cup semifinal. As a forward with good size and strong scoring instincts, Fidler still has a shot to work his way back into American basketball, and a strong showing at Summer League could be the catalyst.

Fidler started his collegiate career at Omaha before becoming a highly touted transfer acquisition by the Spartans in 2024.
