Former LSU Tiger Angel Reese named to WNBA All-Star Game

Angel Reese, forward for the Atlanta Dream and former LSU Tiger women’s basketball player, was just named to the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game. This appearance marks the third honor of her professional career. Although not a member of the starting lineup, Reese was selected as a player in the reserves pool.

The dominant rebounder was a force in her collegiate basketball days while she and head coach Kim Mulkey led LSU to its first national championship in program history in 2023. Reese’s prowess in the frontcourt has transitioned well to the WNBA as the former seventh overall pick is currently averaging a double-double for both the season and over the course of her young career.

Reese was drafted to the Chicago Sky out of college, but the Atlanta Dream had a vision that included Angel, leading to the decision to trade two future first-round picks in exchange for the 6’4” player during this past offseason. In a surprising marquee move for the league, the Dream seem to have benefited from the transaction as they currently sit 12-9 overall, third in the Eastern Conference.

Two of Reese’s teammates on the Dream will also join her as All-Star selections: guards Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard. This marks the fourth career selection for each.
