Former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck ended his contract standoff this week, as the Arizona Cardinals' official team site reported.
The Cardinals drafted Beck in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 65th overall. Beck had gone through minicamp and OTAs but was not under contract. Now, Beck has officially signed his rookie deal, which is four years long and worth $7.406 million. Arizona brought Beck into a quarterback room with veterans like Jacoby Brissett, who was the starter last year, and Gardner Minshew.
Beck spent his college football career at Georgia from 2022-2024, throwing for 7.912 yards and 58 touchdowns to 28 interceptions, while going 24-3 as a starter. He even won a national championship in 2022 as a backup to Stetson Bennett. Beck transferred to Miami in 2025, throwing for 3,813 yards and 30 touchdowns to 12 interceptions in 16 games. He led them to the College Football Playoff national championship against Indiana, but they were defeated. Nonetheless, Beck had a great college football career.
Beck has the tools to be a good NFL quarterback, but it would take time to adjust to the professional level. The Cardinals started training camp on July 22. Beck has a shot to start for Arizona, but that probably won't happen until midway through the season.
"It's pretty cool," Beck said. "(Signing my contract) is part of it. I've been here, so I have been part of the team. But now it's official."
Beck is one of the NFL's last rookies to sign his contract. The former Georgia quarterback could see action in the Cardinals' preseason opener on Aug. 6.
