Tay Gowan grew up in Covington, Georgia, overcoming adversity and obstacles that propelled the defensive back to stardom at UCF. The Arizona Cardinals drafted Gowan in the sixth round, 223rd overall, of the 2021 NFL Draft and eventually traded him to the Eagles in the blockbuster deal that saw Zach Ertz depart Philadelphia for the Arizona Cardinals.
Gowan went on to spend time with the Eagles, Vikings, Titans, and Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL. Along the way, Gowan wrote a book, which recently hit the shelves.
Titled 'Tested But Chosen: The Playbook for Turning Pain into Purpose,' Gowan details a "raw, powerful, and life-changing blueprint for overcoming adversity, transforming pain into growth, and building the kind of habits that create real impact—on and off the field."

This isn’t just a book.
It’s proof that faith is stronger than failure.
Tested but Chosen — out now.
Grateful beyond words.

Tay Gowan wasn’t supposed to make it. Born into struggle, raised by a single mother, and often homeless, he was faced with odds that crush most. He didn’t just grow up without a father—he grew up with the weight of protecting everyone else. Sleeping on couches. Sharing hotel rooms with his siblings. Eating off dollar menus just to stay afloat. But through it all, one thing remained: his belief that God chose him for something greater.
