LeBron James will most likely play the 2026-27 NBA season. The only question is where.
After the four-time NBA champion informed the Los Angeles Lakers that he won't return for his ninth season, several NBA teams have emerged as landing spots. This includes the newly revamped Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Golden State Warriors.
Many want to know about LeBron and his agent Rich Paul's plans this offseason. There is one man who knows it all, but he won't share the strategy in effect.
Richard Jefferson claims he knows LeBron James' timeline
Former Cavs star Richard Jefferson was on The Road Trippin Show when he revealed that he's been in touch with LeBron James and Paul and might know the four-time NBA champion's next destination.
"Yeah, he told me, but I can't tell anybody," Jefferson said.
The 2016 NBA champion also revealed that everything is going according to plan and there's some "strategy" in place between him, Paul and LeBron.
"He told me exactly what was going to happen," Jefferson continued. "He told me the date that he was going to tell the Lakers that he moved away. He told me where he was going to go. He told me not to tell. But I know the whole plan. Me, him, and Rich Paul, we've been talking. So I kind of know their whole strategy."

LeBron may have confided in his former Cavs championship teammate. Despite being prompted to reveal the destination, Jefferson maintained his silence but said the plan is "waiting on some other dominoes to fall":
"You notice how once he told the Lakers he wasn't coming back, they signed all the players the next day," Jefferson added. "So he's just waiting on a couple of things. So me and him are going to stay together. We're probably going to chop it up today. We've been really kind of game planning how we want everything to go for the next point. A couple of dominoes, y'all."
If Jefferson was speaking any truth, LeBron might already have a destination in mind. But given how turbulent this offseason has been, he doesn't want to commit to the franchise already. He's waiting out the storm and sees if there is a better opportunity elsewhere. Knowing the NBA's all-time scoring leader, it is safe to say that he would join a contender who can help him get the elusive fifth NBA title.
He has played and delivered for both the Heat and Cavaliers before. The Cavs have a storybook ending to sell and the Heat have 'Greek Freak' Giannis Antetokounmpo. Moreover, LeBron has always wanted to play beside four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry, so there's another team, with some incentive for the 41-year-old to look at.
