GLENDALE – After a 15-36 record with the Arizona Cardinals, former head coach Jonathan Gannon’s reputation seemed to be in the mud. Despite the nice closing words general manager Monti Ossenfort and owner Michael Bidwill stated about the 42-year-old, the three straight losing seasons had many questioning how long it would take Gannon to get another NFL job.
Those rumors were quickly shut when he had an interview with the Dallas Cowboys regarding their defensive coordinator positioning. However, the bigger surprise came on Friday, when ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Gannon is meeting with the Tennessee Titans for their vacant head coaching position.

Gannon meeting with Titans:
Gannon was praised as a great leader and culture setter for Arizona by his players and executives. Despite it not turning into wins, Bidwill is happy with the job Gannon did, just couldn’t stack in wins. The Titans could be trying to bring in Gannon as its own culture setter, like the Cardinals believe he did with them.
The problem relies on the lack of results Gannon had in his first stint as a head coach. He had two seasons with four or less wins, and even loss to Tennessee this past season in an embarrassing home loss.

The Titans goal could be to try and find a head coach that’ll help develop their franchise quarterback in Cam Ward. Gannon’s losses are hard to excuse, but he did have a stellar relationship with quarterback Kyler Murray during his tenure. Even after Murray’s silent benching, the two-time Pro Bowler posted on his X account about his support and love for Gannon after his departure.
