Former Brazil coach Carlos Alberto Parreira was admitted to the Samaritano hospital in Rio de Janeiro, the clinic said in a statement on Wednesday without giving further details.
Parreira was diagnosed with with Hodgkin lymphoma in 2023, a type of cancer that begins in the lymphatic system.
The disease was at times considered in remission, but it later reappeared.
Parreira is considered one of the most successful coaches in Brazilian football history, leading the national team to its fourth World Cup title in the United States in 1994.
