Joey Bosa is one of the best remaining NFL free agents.

He may never sign with another team.

ESPN's Adam Schefter said it's "more likely than not" the five-time Pro Bowler has already played his final NFL game after spending last season with the Buffalo Bills.

Bosa signed a one-year deal with Buffalo hoping to revive his career after several injury-plagued seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Instead, his lone season with the Bills could end up being the final chapter of a decorated NFL career.

Bosa, who turns 31 on July 11, has remained unsigned throughout free agency despite coming off his healthiest season since 2021.

Schefter said on his podcast he believes retirement is now more likely than another NFL contract.

"I think if Joey Bosa wanted to play football, it probably would have happened already," Schefter said.

Schefter added there is one obvious exception.

If any team could convince Bosa to return, it would likely be the San Francisco 49ers, where he could play alongside his younger brother, Nick Bosa.

Earlier this offseason, Nick Bosa told reporters his older brother wasn't thinking much about football.

"I think he's working on his golf game right now," Nick Bosa said.

Bosa appeared in 15 regular-season games with the Bills after signing a one-year, $12.6 million contract. He finished second on the team with five sacks and 47 quarterback pressures, and led the NFL with five forced fumbles.

Pro Football Focus ranked Bosa as the highest-graded fourth-quarter and overtime performer among players who elevated their performance late in games during the 2025 season.

Bosa has played 10 NFL seasons since the then-San Diego Chargers selected him with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. He was named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year after recording 10.5 sacks despite missing the first four games of his rookie season, and he reached double-digit sacks in four of his first six seasons.

Buffalo moved in a different direction this offseason, signing veteran edge rusher Bradley Chubb in free agency and drafting Clemson standout T.J. Parker in the second round of the NFL Draft.
