The college career of former Auburn defensive back Tyler Scott has gotten off to a rocky start, and he will look to get a fresh start at a program closer to his hometown.
Tyler Scott, who signed with Auburn as a four-star cornerback during the 2023 recruiting cycle, is set to transfer to Georgia State, according to a report by Pete Nakos of On3.
Scott was a part of a stellar 2023 class that finished strong in the rankings at No. 19 nationally, thanks to a quick effort by Hugh Freeze and his staff. Scott was the fourth-highest rated commitment to the class, trailing Keldric Faulk, Kayin Lee, and Darron Reed Jr. He appeared in four games during his Auburn career, all during his true freshman season in 2023, where he made two stops. He will have four seasons of eligibility remaining after redshirting last season due to an ACL injury that kept him off the field.
Scott is the fourth player to find a new home since the conclusion of spring practice. Fellow defensive backs, JC Hart and Terrance Love, are heading to Utah and Colorado, respectively, while former offensive lineman Bradyn Joiner has committed to Purdue. Kicker Ian Vachon and safety CJ Johnson are still searching for their new homes as of the time of this post.
