I was thinking with everything going on in the world right now, what still brings us all together? Food!!!

So I was thinking let’s start a thread to discuss your favorite foods from different cultures and as Americans we are super spoiled in this aspect.

I’ll go first:

Kosher: Latkes
Hala: Hummus
Mexican: Tamales
Chinese: Kung Pao anything
Japanese: Takoyaki
Vietnamese: Banh Mi
American: BBQ brisket
Korean: Kimchi
German: Schnitzel
English: Shepards pie
Irish: Cockles and salt
Italian: Calabrian chiles
Greek: Baklava
Spain: Paella
Puerto Rico: Arroz Con Pollo
Ethiopian: Dor Wot

Etc, etc, etc.

Heck we could even do regional American culture. Tex mex, Beef on Wik, crab cakes, crawfish etouffee, Avacado toast, etc.

When I travel I always make sure to seek out and devour the local specialty. That is the true local culture. Food is culture. And when people say “America has no culture,” I laugh and say “you’re right, we have them all.” It’s what makes us awesome. So what are your favorites from the melting pot?

Making and finding good tamales is an art by itself.

Btw, shredded beef red chile burros, enchilada style, are hard to beat.

And from my experience, they are one of the more consistently good types of Mexican food to order.
