FOND DU LAC – The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders are back for its ninth season of Northwoods League play.
The baseball team will celebrate opening night at 6:35 p.m. May 27 at Herr-Baker Field, 980 E. Division St., as it plays against the Madison Mallards. Fans in attendance will receive a magnet schedule.
Ahead of the season opener, fans are invited to the Dock Spiders Fan Fest at noon May 25, featuring an exhibition game against the Manitowoc Bandits starting at 1:05 p.m. Admission is free, and the concession stand and team store will be open.
Upcoming promotional days for the rest of May include Weather Day May 28 with a presentation by WFRV-TV, and a bucket hat giveaway to the first 500 fans on May 31, in partnership with Horicon Bank.

Starting June 3, the Dock Spiders and corporate partners will host a series of watch parties for select road games, inviting fans to cheer on the team with promotional items, ticket giveaways, and food and drink specials.
Dock Spiders staff will be at each local host bar or restaurant as it broadcasts the game. The first one will be at Bob's on the Avenue, 689 Fond du Lac Ave., at 6:35 p.m. June 3. Bob's will also host on July 7.
The Hotel Retlaw, 1 N. Main St., will host a watch party at 6:35 p.m. June 17.
The upcoming Fond du Lac Beer Company, 21 Fourth Street Court, is scheduled to host two of the watch parties: one at 6:05 p.m. June 25 and one at 6:35 p.m. July 9.
Games can also be streamed at home through the Northwoods League app-based broadcasts at watch.northwoodsleague.com.
"Over the past few seasons, our road game watch parties have been a great way for our team to engage with sports fans in the community," Dock Spiders General Manager Jim Misudek said. "Our aim is to have Dock Spiders games on the TV next to the Brewers in every area bar and restaurant all summer long."
