Flyers get major news on Dylan Larkin trade rumors originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Dylan Larkin is a player that would be of interest to a lot of NHL teams.
But following his trade request from the Detroit Red Wings, it's not that simple.
Larkin has a no-movement clause, which means he's essentially in charge of his destination. At the very least, Larkin can rule out landing spots he doesn't want.
In this kind of situation, a player (or his agent) may give his current team a list of other franchises that he'd accept a deal to.
That way, Detroit could negotiate just with the teams that could actually pull off a deal and get Larkin's approval.
And at least one team sounds like it isn't on that list.
Kevin Kurz of The Athletic reports that the Philadelphia Flyers are not an approved team for Larkin:
Not sure what's out there right now but per a source, the Flyers do not believe they are on Dylan Larkin's "short list" at the moment. These things can always change, of course, but that's where it is at present

MORE: Dylan Larkin's trade request points out a major NHL flaw
The Flyers were a playoff team this past season, unlike the Red Wings, and they do have some solid young talent. They aren't a surefire Stanley Cup contender, though, at least not before some of their youngsters develop.
It's not yet obvious what Larkin might be looking for specifically, so it's hard to just guess his list of possible destinations.
Given the Red Wings' playoff drought, though, one would think Larkin wants a winner. The Flyers could've fit that description, but they must not fit his other desires.
